The Rev. John Atkinson (1824-1901) was born in Otley, Yorkshire.

The Rev. John William Atkinson (1847-1916) was born in Hunslet in Yorkshire, the son of the Rev. John Atkinson and Ann (nee Wainwright). He was pastor of the Latimer Congregational Chapel, Mile End for fifty years.

Dr. Stanley Bean Atkinson (1873-1910) was born in Old Ford Road, the son of the Rev. John William Atkinson and Emily Celia Atkinson (nee Bean). After qualifying as a doctor and barrister he devoted much of his time to public service in Stepney. He was a progressive Liberal member of the Stepney Borough Council from 1903 until his premature death and was vice chairman of the Mile End Board of Guardians. He was also involved in many of the activities undertaken by Latimer Congregational Chapel.
