Contains a marked article 'Lutheran Jubilee' about Luther celebrations to commemorate the Third Jubilee of the Lutheran Reformation - in which sermon was preached at the Lutheran Church of the Savoy, Strand. The Lutheran Church of Little Alie Street, Goodman's Fields [St George's] also marked the Jubilee.
Printed pamphlet headed 'At a Meeting held at the New London Tavern, on June 27, 1816, William Wilberforce Esq. in the Chair, To take in consideration the state of the German Lutheran Church of St. Peter, at Copenhagen, which was destroyed by the Bombardment of the City by British Fleet and Army..', to open a subscription list to raised funds for the restoration of the church. This lists ministers at Savoy and St George's and confirms contact between the German pastors, William Wilberforce and member of the Clapham Sect. |
