| Description | Approximately 450 images including prints (some enlarged to poster size); postcards and a glass plate negative of Bath Street Chapel. The images are presented in a range of formats, such as, in photographic albums and in mounts/frames. Some items within the series were found grouped together in identifiable sequences and others were found as single items.
Many of the photographs were taken by the renowned East End photographer, William Whiffin. Whiffin was based locally (premises in East India Dock Road) and was a supporter of Poplar Methodist Church. He appears to have donated these images for the church to use in its daily work, for instance, for promotional activity (e.g. in Poplar Methodist Church events, publications etc). |

| ArchNote | Every attempt has been made to preserve the original order of the material (and thus to reflect accurately the manner in which the images were arranged and used by Poplar Methodist Church), however, this was not an easy task. The end result reflects some of the issues/problems which arose during the cataloguing process. |
