| Title | Envelope 35: Photographs relating to Activities and Events at Poplar Methodist Church in the 1970s |
| Date(s) | c. 1970 |
| Description | Envelope labelled '35' and entitled:
'Poplar Methodist Mission - Trinity Church 1976. Daily Lunch Club - Helpers of Lunch Club. Tree Planting Ceremony - 1977.'
Contains twenty black and white photographs of various Poplar Methodist Church activities and events at Trinity Church, in the late 1970s. Includes: two photographs of children in fancy dress attending a Jubilee Open Day at the church; seven photographs of children (wearing scouts and guides uniforms) planting trees in the church grounds as part of a tree planting ceremony in 1977; one photograph of children at an event (possibly a drawing competition); one photograph of people at an event in the church (which may be a bake sale); four photographs of groups of older men and women eating in a canteen; two photographs of views of the grounds of Trinity Church (front and rear); three photographs of the interior of the Church. The images of the older people eating are most likely photographs of the Poplar Methodist Church's Daily Senior Citizen's Lunch Club.
Some of the photographs have names and calculations on the reverse, which appear to be some form of image orders. The photographs may therefore have been used as master copies for the ordering of additional copies for church members. |
