| Description | Untitled file used as a minute book, a typed sheet stuck to the inside of the front cover reads: 'Stepney Relief in Need Charity' and lists details of Trustees at 31 October 1985, with some annotations in pen.
This is proceeded by typed minutes of meetings of the Trustees of the Mile End Old Town Charities from 14 November 1958 - 21 June 1977 (inclusive), at the last meeting the: 'new Scheme, which was sealed by the Charity Commission on 25 April 1977 was given full consideration. It was agreed that the Charity would now operate under the name 'STEPNEY RELIEF IN NEED CHARITY', with meetings to be held quarterly'. The file continues with minutes of meetings of the Trustees of Stepney Relief in Need Charity dating from 26 August 1977 to 14 October 1994 and there is a loose document at the back of the file which is a Stepney Relief in Need Charity report on allocations from 1 October to 31 December 1994.
The minutes contain the personal data of those the Stepney Relief in Need Charity has helped, with details of recipients (including young adults) in the minutes and related papers dating from 1994.
In the 1990s grants were made by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets from a fund made available by the Charity and a list was provided to the Trustees of the recipients, which was put into the Minute Book. |

| PhysicalDescription | Some pages were originally stuck in the file and have come loose, others are attached with staples. It has not been possible to remove the material from the file and repackage, for instance, in archive folders, due to the damage this could cause to the contents as the file is tightly bound. However, the file is now secured with archive tape and some loose material within has been attached with brass paperclips for added protection. |
