DescriptionMaterial from the 'Protest & Survive' exhibition held first from 17 October 2006 and then restaged at Wilton's Music Hall from 2 October 2011 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street. Includes photographs from the Battle provided by Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives, posters (copies) from the Spanish Civil War loaned by Stuart Christie, photographs by Phil Maxwell and specially commissioned portraits of the diverse communities of the East End by emerging photographers from the London College of Communication Photojournalism and Documentary Photography MA (see separate catalogue entries for details).
