DescriptionDocument in which Stapleton, Viscount Combermere, 'Lord Lieutenant and Custos Rotulorum of the Tower Hamlets and the Liberties thereof,' appoints Charles Tilstone Beke Deputy Lieutenant for Tower Hamlets.

On dorse: note that Charles Tilstone Beek (changed to Beke, 1833) was born in Hunt Street, Mile End New Town 10 Oct. 1800, son of James Beek and Susannah Hindle; married (1) Eliza Griesbach, and (2) Emily Alston (m. in Mauritius), and died 31 July 1874 at Bromley, Kent.
