Includes a Probate of a Will of Nathaniel James Powell (1885) and of Thomas Craig (1809). Some of the deeds contain small plans and handwritten annotations (usually on the reverse) made by those who owned them/had them in their possession which indicate why the records are included.

The dates of the documents are as follows: 1809; 1871; 1872; 1879; 1882; 1885; 1892; 1893; 1902; 1925; 1933; 1946; 1950; 1962. Please note that this part of Lyal Road (57-86) was in the Metropolitan Borough of Bethnal Green from 1901-1965.

AdminHistoryWilfred Stanley Stokes and his father Henry Stokes, owned property, including premises at 76 Lyal Road. Wilfred Stokes was a cabinet maker and his grandaughter and donor of these papers believes he bought each of his employees a house.
