| Description | Registers of admissions of deceased individuals to the mortuary. Information varies across the series but generally includes:
Name, address, age and religious affiliation of the deceased, place and date of death, cause of death, purpose for which the body was deposited - 'inquest/post mortem/simple custody', name and address of next-of-kin, details of the undertaker, pathologist and inquest verdict (if a coroner's inquest was held), some include the date the body was removed for burial. The place of burial is only given for 1911-1942 (L/THL/F/1/1/1-7).
Later volumes from 2010s include eye colour, height and weight.
Gaps in the series are: January 1943-July 1962, February 1963-July 1964, October 1990-December 1990 and June 2006-May 2009. |
