This Committee was responsible for all aspects of keeping the borough clean; there is information on individual streets and roads, fly-tipping, wharves and depots. There are also details about Council working conditions, employees and wage rates.

For example, in 1965-1996 (L/THL/A/5/1/2) discussed finding Chinese weasel skins and the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) making a film about the poet East End John Quarrell (27 April 1966).

The Committee ended in 1971 with reorganisation of the Committee structure.
