Part 1
Photographs, including:
- Two photographs of refuse collecting in Estcourt, Natal, South Africa.
- Mounted press-cutting of illustrations (possibly from the Illustrated London News), titled 'Cleaning Up Victorian London'.
- Picture of two refuse workers (one is a black man) from the 1930s (location unknown).

Part 2
- Letter from the Sales Department of Hygienic Refuse Containers Limited of London, 2 July 1935 and returning a 1907 postcard showing a man working as a water carrier in Lucknow, India.

Part 3
- Set of 8 captioned photographs from Karrier Motors Limited of Huddersfield, Yorkshire together with an advertisement for the firm, probably a page taken from a municipal journal.

Part 4
- Set of 25 departmental photographs, 19 mounted on blue card, including 7 small prints (2.7 x 4.5) showing refuse being loaded on to ships on the River Thames.
