DescriptionInformation about the planning and opening of the Bethnal Green Gramophone Record Library can be found in the minutes of the Council's Public Libraries Commitee (ref. L/BGM/A/11) The service was initially based at Bethnal Green Library, where it opened on 13 February 1961; it later moved to Mayfield House on Cambridge Heath Road, which then became home to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Record Library (see L/THL/H/4).
