Received of Captain George Steevens [Stevens] upon account of last year's Poor's Rate received after audit.

We among others whose names are subscribed inhabitants of the Hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall in the Parish of Stepney in the County of Middlesex in provenance of a Warrant under the Hands and Seals of Ebenezer Mussell and Boulton Mainwaring esquire two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said county of Middlesex have examined the aforegoing accounts of Mr John Smith and Mr. Lawrence Hewson late overseers of the poor of the said Hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall for the year 1746 and find the same hue and right and that there remained in the hand of the said late overseers the sum of thirty and one pounds nine shillings and sixpence which sum they have this day paid into the hands of Mr. John Brown the present Churchwarden of the said Hamlet
