We, among others whose names are subscribed inhabitants of the hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall in the parish of Stepney on the county of Middlesex, in pursuance of a warrant under the Hands and Seals of Walter Berry and George Garrett Esquire, two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said county of Middlesex, have examined the aforegoing account of Mr John Pania and Mr James Howes, late overseers of the poor of the said hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall for the year 1752, and find the same true and right and that there remained in the hands of the late overseers the sum of twenty pounds, seventeen shillings and two pence three farthings, which they have this day paid to Mr William Stevens, the late church warden of the said hamlet.
