We among others whose names are subscribed inhabitants of the Hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall in the parish of Stepney in the county of Middlesex, have pursuant to a Warrant from Walter berry, esquire, and Sir Samuel Gower Knight, two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said county, examined the aforesaid accounts of Mr William Stevens, churchwarden of the said Hamlet for the year 1750, and find by the same that there is to Mr William Stevens, £129, 3s 2d, three farthings.
