We (among others) whose names are Subscribed Inhabitants of the Hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall in the parish of Stepney in the county of Middlesex, in pursuance of a Warrant under the Hands and Seals of Walter Berry and Ebenezer Mussell esquires, two of His Majesty's Justices for the said county of Middlesex, have examined the aforegoing accounts of Mr Richard Garment and Mr Richard Hagar, late Overseers of the Poor of the said hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall for the year 1748, and find the same true and right, and that there remained in the hands of the said late Overseers the sum of nineteen pounds, ten shillings and seven pence three farthings Which sum they have this day paid into the hands of Mr John Mitchell the present churchwarden of the said Hamlet Witness our Hands, 23 May 1749 John Smith William Walker William Stevens Joseph Hefford Christopher[?] Felten Henry Stilles Henry Hale Samuel Posford |
