| AdminHistory | Bonner Street Schools (as they were first called) were opened by the School Board for London on 24th April 1876. They consited of a boys school on the top floor, a girls school on the middle floor and an infants school on the ground floor. A reorganisation took place in 1931 when the Boys and Girls Schools ceased to exist; the Infants School remained as a separate department but the top two floors became a junior girls school. This organisation lasted until the Second World War. In August 1939 the schools were evacuated to Wroxham in Norfolk. Eventually Bonner Street School reopened as an emergency school in 1942. In April 1945 the school became Bonner Street Junior Mixed and Infants School, changing to Bonner Primary (J.M.&I.) in December 1949. |
| CustodialHistory | The Records were presented to the Local History Library and Archives by the School in August 1995; they relate mainly to the former Infants Department. No other records of the schools are known to have survived. Wilford's history of the Schools (see above) show there to have been an earlier log book for the Infants Department in existance in 1976. The records also include an admission register for Cranbrook Terrace Infants School which closed in 1938 with many children transferring to Bonner Street.
