The documentation provides evidence of the arrangements to settle the debt whereby J. J. and S. W. Chalk were to purchase Bonner property at 33 Cambridge Gardens, Notting Hill for £800. This purchase would be paid for by the timber merchants through the settlement of two debts owed by the Bonners (to the Chalks and the Starr Bowkett Benefit Building Society). On successful completion of the house sale J. J. and S. W. Chalk had agreed to cancel the debt of £510 owed to them for timber supply, in addition to paying the balance of £290 owed by the Bonners to the Starr Bowkett Benefit Building Society. The deeds for the property were to be made out in the name of Mrs. Mary Ann Chalk, wife of Seymour William Chalk. |
