DescriptionVolume containing financial records (including some loose material) kept by the executor of William Cowland's estate, Seymour William Chalk.

The records consist of:

- 7 pages of entries recording expenditure and receipts (11 December 1886 - 24 March 1887);

- 6 page section re a banking account. The title for this section is 'Exr of William Cowland (S W Chalk) Banking account at the London Couty Bank 109711 New Oxford St W C' (11 December 1886 - March 1887);

- 5 page section re the Will of the late Mr William Cowland which stipulated that £200 was to be left in trust to the care of Seymour William Chalk to be paid out monthly to the designated recipient. This section contains a list of payments to Alice Knott from 1 March 1887 - Oct 1893, signed by the recipient (overall entries in this section date from 1 March 1887 - 2 April 1894);

-5 pages at the back of the volume including an address list (e.g. Caroline Cowland, Mrs. A. Knott and Mrs. Alice Mander) and several pages of records re stock, memorandums and other notes.

Loose material found within the volume:

- Bundle of receipts for money received by Mrs. Alice E. Knott from Mr. S. W. Chalk (November 1893 - August 1895);
- Letter from A Knott (presumably to S. W. Chalk) dated 1 November 1893 re receipt of payments;
- Letters addressed to Mr Chalk from M. J. Cowland (Stanley Rd, Stratford), brother of Mrs. Alice E. Knott (March - April 1895 and undated)
- Deposit note (11 December 1886).
