The earlier records in the volume are identified as quarterly figures per financial year for the J. J. and S. W. Chalk Joint Rent Account, these include a note about the examination of the records by the executors of S. J. Chalk deceased dated 31 March 1937. Later records tend to follow a similar pattern, with descriptions and amounts listed for approximately every 3 months, however, there are a number of exceptions with entries for consecutive months and other dates within quarterly periods.
