| Description | Assignment by Robert Thornton, citizen and barber surgeon of London, for consideration of £7 10s, to Thomas Raynboroughe, mariner of Wapping, and his wife Martha.
Thomas Wythe of Ipswich, Suffolk, had leased to Thornton, 1 November 1590, a tenement (lately in the occupation of Alexander Gedde). This property was part of seven tenements lately built on Wapping Wall, parish of St Mary Whitechapel, by Barnabie Bestowe Turnour. Also leased was so much of the wharf and backside enclosed within a paling, as belonged to that tenement. For a period of 21 years from Michelmas 1590, at an annual rent of £5.
Thornton now transfers to Raynborough and wife the lease, for the remainder of the period of years.
Endorsement on the back: a bond, that the parties agree that Thornton retains the property until 29 September 1594, paying all rents and dues up to that time, on penalty of £5 for non-performance.
