AdminHistoryMiss Hilda Esther Shepherd was born in about 1912, probably in Bow, and died in the late 1970s or early 1980s. She attended Olga Street Girls' School and Bow Central School. She was involved with the Driffield Road Primitive Methodist Church, belonging to the Band of Hope and qualifying as a Sunday school teacher there. She trained and qualified as a nursing sister. She became a missionary in China and was interned there during the Second World War. After a short respite in England she then worked in Burma, Malaysia and Africa.
