We (among others) whose names are Subscribed Inhabitants of the Hamlet of Poplar and Blackwall in the parish of Stepney in the County of Middlesex, have pursuant to a warrant from John Lawton and Walter Berry Esquire, two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said county, examined the aforegoing accounts of Mr John Mitchell, Churchwarden of the said Hamlet for the year 1748, and find by the same that there remains in the hands of the said Mr John Mitchell, the sum of eight pounds, one shilling and ninepence halfpenny, for the use of the Hamlets
