| Description | Five volumes, three in the name of Robert Marzetti Seymour Chalk and two in the name of his wife, Inge Ketty Seymour Chalk, which have been used to keep a monthly record of the couple's personal accounts.
Each volume follows the same format, with the name of the individual the volume relates to at the top of every page and monthly records spread over two pages. Beneath each page title there are lists of incoming and outgoing payments (and short descriptions of these transactions) and a note of the monthly balance, including payments received minus expenses.
Where handwritten purchase information has been recorded within the volumes they are described as being 'cash books'. |
