| Description | Log book recording hours of duty driving and rest undertaken by J. J. and S. W. Chalk driver, William Graham. The records were kept in compliance with the Transport Act 1968: The Drivers' Hours (Goods and Vehicles) (Keeping of Records) Regulations 1969, they were required to be kept by persons controlling road transport as from 1March 1970.
Each page records: the driver's name and operators licence no. and includes columns recording information under the following headings:
- start of working day;
- driving periods (at the wheel)
- breaks (statutory breaks on duty, statutory breaks off duty);
- end of working day;
- total duty during working day;
- vehicles driven
- details of journeys (or area served)
