TitleWages Book, 1971-1982
Date(s)April 1971 - April 1982
DescriptionVolume with embossed title of: 'wages' on the front cover, designed to record weekly employee earnings information (one week's worth per page), including gross pay, net pay, basic and overtime earnings, deductions (e.g. tax and National Insurance, pension etc). Contains records dating from April 1971 - April 1982.

It looks like the volume has not been used to record wages information strictly in the manner it was designed to capture this data. For instance, it has been used to record salary information for specific employees, with sections used exclusively for a particular member of staff (over a number of pages), rather than recording wages information for a particular week relating to all employees. Sometimes additional notes have been written across a number of columns which could each hold separate data. The amount of information recorded and columns completed varies throughout the volume, sometimes only the bare minimum is recorded (e.g. basic earnings, gross pay and net pay) whereas in other parts additional fields have been completed and more information captured about the wages of a particular employee.

Records within this volume relate to the following employees:

P. T. Adams;
L. Cater;
Miss. Marion Skinner;
Miss. Margaret Betts;
R. Mothersill;
Pat Levitt;
Harry Sanfey;
Joe Oliver.

Only about two thirds of the volume have been used.
