TitleBox X, Y, Z Images
Date(s)c. 1920-c. 1960
DescriptionEnvelope labelled 'Box X Y Z' containing sixteen black and white photographs and one sepia postcard. Some of the images are stamped/annotated with the text 'Whiffin'; 'Box X'; 'Box Y; 'Box Z' and/or have other descriptors on the reverse.

The envelope consists of mixed images of Poplar Methodist Church buildings; people (individual portraits and group photographs); royal visits and other Poplar Methodist Church related events, outings and excursions. In the individual portrait photographs there is an image of a Reverend Albert Aspey; Mrs Lax also features in a 1935 photograph entitled 'The Office Staff'. Other photographs include several of King George's Hall prior to, and immediately after, the World War Two air raid which devastated the building in September 1940.

There is also one photograph which relates to Trinity Congregational Church (as opposed to Poplar Methodist Church). This is a photograph of an ATV camera crew filming teenagers at the youth club at Trinity Church in 1960.
