| Description | Three bundles of handwritten, annotated/corrected sections of text by Reverend Lax. There are no headings/titles amongst this material so it is not possible to easily identify what writing it specifically relates to, however, it is likely that it is draft text relating to one of his five novels which were first published during the period of the late 1920s to the late 1930s (1927-1937).
First bundle: Six pages, first page un-numbered and the remainder numbered 2-6. First line of text: 'What do I think of Mrs. Pester?'
Second bundle: Twelve pages numbered 2-13. First line of text: 'he would have saved himself the trouble of carrying any weapon at all, for the simple reason that Poplar people are not murderers!'
Third bundle: Three pages numbered 2, 8 and 9. First line of text begins: ''Do excuse me, Mr. Lax; I'm so sorry..' |
