The first issue within the volume is significant as it includes information about the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip, to the New Cambridge Boys' Club on 19 May 1960. Material includes a reprint of a photograph of the event and a thank you letter to Mr Lotinga from James Orr, Buckingham Palace, dated 20 May 1960. An extract from the letter reads:
'His Royal Highness was particularly impressed by the efficient way in which the Club is run and with the friendly atmosphere which prevailed everywhere'. |
