| AdminHistory | A notable attendee of the initial meetings of the Stepney Unit was Professor Stanley Thomas Bindoff (1908-1980) of Queen Mary College, University of London, a specialist in Tudor and Elizabethan history. The name 'Granick' also appears in the brief note of the Group meeting held on 2 December 1954: this was almost certainly David Granick, who was a member of the Society. He went on to achieve widespread recognition as a photographer of Stepney and Tower Hamlets in the 1960s and 1970s. |
