| Description | Copy out-correspondence and originals and copies of in-letters to Jil Cove from individuals offering their memories of Cable Street, together with associated papers. Many of these letters were written in response to an appeal letter published in the 'Jewish Chronicle' and some are very detailed. Some correspondents were later interviewed for the Group's oral history project for which sheets of interview notes are included. There is a letter from the musician and noted hotelier Alfred Feld, and a few letters from American citizens originally from the East End, including one from Robert Simpson, author of a novel, 'April's There' (Harper & Row, 1973) - photocopy of the novel included. |
