| Description | 'Stitching Bangladesh', a live participatory performance by Farida Yesmin:
Part 1: Intimate Workshop, 10am - 12pm at House of Annetta, 25 Princelet Street, Spitalfields:
'In the workshop, participants cut and rip a large Bangladeshi flag to represent feelings of pain, loss and powerlessness in the wake of the recent political struggles in the Summer of 2024. This act helps release emotions and forms support among the group.'

Part 2: Public Participatory Performance, 2pm - 4pm at Altab Ali Park, Adler Street, Whitechapel.
'Yesmin then proceeds to the culturally significant site of Altab Ali Park, named after a Bangladeshi migrant worker who was murdered during a violent racist attack during the 70s. Now used as a site for local communities to gather, recent events include rallies in support of the student protest/uprisings in Bangladesh during summer 2024.'
'...workshop participants and wider public...reimagine the flag and its symbology by restitching the wounds and cuts previously created. The work intends to make heed towards and amplify the otherwise invisible labour of women and queer people in the everyday. The work platforms the role and voices of marginalised genders in processes of democracy building, through healing the torn nation.'
