At front: one page of J. E. Pittman's brief handwritten memories referring to pages in the book, including Saracen's Head Inn, Aldgate; Ruckholt, Leyton; Raine's School and Raine's Bounty; St George in the East choir.

Also newspaper cutting relating to page 81: 'The Church by the Sea' relating to a play written about the character of Phoebe Hessel who served as a soldier, and died aged 108. The play was written for broadcasting by Hugh Stewart. Cutting features the gravestone at St Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex.

This volume was previously kept by 'B. E. Clarke' and 'S. A. Cross'.
