| Description | Refers to articles of marriage settlement 20 June 1716 between Edward Newton, citizen and skinner of London, his intended wife Elizabeth Pindar of London, spinster and Daniel Russell of Skinners Hall, gentleman. Elizabeth was seized in fee of copyhold premises in the Stepney Manor at Saint Mary Whitechapel, as follows: cottage in occupation of John Middleton; tenement in occupation of John Martin, stone cutter; tenement called The Royal Oak in the occupation of Day and adjoining cottage in occupation of Baldwyn, widow; two tenements in occupation of Thomas Moore and Thomas Brown.
Russell had paid £200 money to aid Newton in his business trade, and Elizabeth accordingly surrendered her copyhold to the Lord of the Manor to the use of Russell.
