DescriptionIndenture; Henry John Wood of 3 David St., Bromley [-by-Bow] (son of Henry Wood), apprenticed to William George Wilshaw, manager of Fletcher, Son & Fearnall Ltd., of Union Docks, Poplar, to learn to be a shipwright. [Fletcher, Son & Fearnall were established at Limehouse from 1818 to 1925, building a number of paddle steamers and merchant vessels at their yard known as Union Dock and at the dry dock added later, formed from the hull of the East Indiaman 'Canton' (built 1790) which was placed in an excavated site at the yard].
