TitleMcCarthy Sketchbook
Date(s)20th Century
DescriptionA grey sketchbook filled with rough drawings. It is bound with card and leather and is approximately eighteen and a half centimetres tall by twenty six and a half wide. There is only one male nude in this sketchbook; most appear to be either portraits or architectural drawings. There are no page numbers.

There is a page close to the start of the sketchbook which has been covered in different shades of green paint. It is possible that it is an impressionist painting of a country landscape. There is also a half-finished sketch of a dog a few pages later.

Number of Sketches: 9
Extent1 item
PhysicalDescriptionCondition: The condition of this sketchbook is rather poor. The front cover is discoloured in numerous places and the corners are rounded with wear. The back cover is particularly discoloured, and appears to have had liquid spilt on it at some point. Inside many of the pages are loose and some of the sketches are slightly dirty.
