TitleMcCarthy Sketchbook
Date(s)20th Century
DescriptionAn extremely large navy blue sketchbook filled with rough drawings. It is bound with board and fabric and is approximately forty two centimetres tall by thirty centimetres wide. The sketches within the book are a mixture of male nudes, mythological scenes and images of the male form. There are no page numbers.

One of the pictures near the beginning of the book appears to depict the centaur Chiron, whom McCarthy drew previously in P/MCC/1/23. Aside from that however there is little to say about this sketchbook, since it contains no other drawings of note.

Number of Sketches: 11

PhysicalDescriptionCondition: Overall this sketchbook is in relatively good condition, at least externally. Although the front cover is slightly worn and speckled with white marks it nonetheless remains mostly intact. There is some slight fraying of the fabric around the spine of the book, but the damage is relatively minor. Internally however there are a large amount of missing pages, and some near the back have been cut apart with scissors.
