TitleMcCarthy Sketchbook
Date(s)20th Century
DescriptionA very large red sketchbook filled with rough drawings. It is bound with board and leather and is approximately thirty seven centimetres tall by twenty five wide. The sketches inside are a mixture of male nudes and architectural drawings, most of them unfinished. There are no page numbers.

A number of the drawings inside are painted, though most are merely half finished sketches. One such sketch appears to be of some kind of industrial landscape, though there is not enough detail to identify it.

Number of Sketches: 14
Extent1 item
PhysicalDescriptionCondition: The condition of this sketchbook is very poor. The front cover is coated with dirt and bears numerous stains and discolourations from paint and ink. The edges of the board are worn and flaking and the spine is somewhat creased. Inside the book there are a number of missing pages and two of the sketches are loose. In many instances the pages are curling at the sides due to physical stress.
