| Description | Electronic newsletter updates about the progress of the campaign by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to obtain city status in 2011-2012. Updates were issued by the Council's Tower Hamlets City Status Bid Team to Council staff and also to external groups. The internal mailing list consisted of senior managers and any other staff who requested to be updated. Those people outside the Council who received the updates consisted of a mix of: official bid supporters (e.g. Whitechapel Art Gallery, Tower of London, Canary Wharf Group etc); residents who signed up online; other people who registered an interest or requested to be put on the list. The updates were issued (in pdf format) every fortnight from July 2011 - March 2012. Note that there was no issue 13 as this was considered unlucky by the Bid Team, instead there were two issues numbered 12 (an issue 12a and an issue 12b). Each pdf was dissemenated by email, two of which emails have been retained and included along with the updates as these documents provide further evidence of the bid process.
These emails are:
1) An explanatory email re issue 13;
2) The final email from the Bid Team in March 2012 concerning the outcome and providing detail as to future plans.
The remainder of the emails have not been retained as they were cover emails with no further informational value. |
