TitleSt Anne's School Admission Register
Date(s)1905-1946
DescriptionAdmission register and related material for St Anne's School. The volume is a London County Council (LCC) admission register with a handwritten label on the cover which reads 'Adm Register 3/10/05 - 6/5/46'. The school name is recorded within as 'St Anne's Buxton St' and the Department is: 'Boys', volume is stamped 'London County Council Mar 20 1905'.

At the front of the volume there is an alphabetic index, section 'B' of which is continued at the end of the index. The admission entries date from March 1905 - May 1946, however, there is a gap during the period of the Second World War and subsequently there are no admissions recorded in the volume from 9 May 1939 until 4 May 1943. The entries are arranged by chronological admission number which corresponds, generally, with a chronological admission/re-admission date, although this is not always the case. The range of information recorded within includes: admission number; date of admission/re-admission; name in full; name of parent/guardian; address; exemption from religious teaching claimed; date of birth; last school attended; highest standard; date of last attendance at this school, cause of leaving, and remarks; date when removal of name was notified to visitor on back of duplicate register; date of admission to successive standards (although the latter field has generally been left blank).

The volume also contains loose material such as, notes on class numbers and pupil lists; a student's handwritten essay notes; an insert from a newspaper (an educational poster) and correspondence about school records.
