The Consultative Committee met monthly and consisted of 1 representative from various local and community groups in the area, which by 1980 consisted of over 25 organisations. The Committee were primarily concerned with public involvement in the Project, and their main role was to discuss issues and consider proposals for funding to submit to the the Steering Group (the Committee had 5, and later 7, representatives in the Steering Group). They also discussed a wider variety of issues on local authority policies and programmes which affected the Spitalfields area.
