| AdminHistory | St. John Beverley Groser (1890-1966), an Anglican priest based in East London for 40 years, was a curate at St.Michael [and All Angel's], Bromley-by-Bow, from 1922, before moving to Christ Church, Watney Street, and then to St.George-in-the-East. From 1948 to 1962 he was Warden and then Master of the Royal Foundation of St.Katharine in Ratcliff.

In 1966 an appeal was launched to set up a Trust in memory of Father Groser "For the benefit of the aged in need, handicapped persons, and the education of young people in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets". The Trust provided regular grants to the Stepney Old People's Welfare Trust, grants to other bodies providing amenitites for the elderly and disabled, and grants and bursaries to enable individual young people to travel and take part in conferences, etc. and to obtain experience of life in other countries.
The Trust was wound up in 1986. |
