| Description | Small, slim, untitled volume, containing records of bills payable and receivable relating to the shipment of timber, dating from September 1871 - August 1880.
The first half of the volume contains entries which (when compared to similar records in B/CHA/1/8/5/2) appear to be records of bills payable dating from September 1871 - June 1880. The records are contained within a table format, with a number of entries listed for every two pages, arranged by sequential reference number. Each record contains information about the drawer, brokers and ships, the amount owed and whether or not this has been paid.
The second half of the volume contains various records, dating from March 1872 - August 1880. Contained within a table format, these records have reference numbers and some are identified as records of bills receivable. From column headings/titles it is also evident that some of the other records found here relate to drawers, with J. J. and S. W. Chalk frequently listed. However, there are other records in this part of the volume that have been entered within columns/pages which do not have any headings/titles on them, making it difficult to fully understand the content of the information contained therein. |
