Regarded as the founder of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, Osmani retired as a four star general from the Bangladesh Army in 1972.

Osmani - name was used by Sylheti young people - to name their group, "The Osmani Knights" Shohid Jolil (aka Punk), Maze, Faizal, Belal, Johel, Abzal, Gous, Muktar and Quddus. Shohid continued to use the name as "Osmani Soundz". |
