TitleMcCarthy Sketchbook
Date(s)1964
DescriptionA black sketchbook. The book is bound with board and buckram and is approximately twenty three centimetres tall by eighteen wide. The drawings inside depict many nudes and male portraits. The pages are not numbered.

There are several photographs from magazines pasted throughout the book, as well as a loose picture of a male nude on a smaller piece of paper. There are also a few unusual pictures within this sketchbook, including an intensely cross-hatched image of a reclining male, and a painted silhouette of a woman.

Number of Sketches: 66
Extent1 item
PhysicalDescriptionCondition: This sketchbook is in rather poor condition. There is a four centimetre long tear in the upper half of the spine, and the lower section is slowly flaking off. A photograph originally pasted onto the inside cover has come away, and there are several loose pages scattered throughout the book. Many pages have been torn out, and the final page has been ripped in half diagonally.
