TitleMcCarthy Sketchbook
Date(s)1963
DescriptionA small black sketchbook. The book is bound with board and buckram and is approximately eleven centimetres tall by eighteen wide. As with P/MCC/1/7, most of the drawings appear to be rough abstracts and formless doodles, though there are a few nudes and portraits here and there. The pages are not numbered.

A a ccutting of a photograph of a man has been pasted onto the inside front cover of the book. The man appears to be of Arabian or African ethnicity. Unlike the preceding sketchbooks there are no purple bookmarks in P/MCC/1/8.

Number of Sketches: 70
Extent1 item
PhysicalDescriptionCondition: The weaving appears to be coming loose at the top and bottom of the spine. In addition, the entire spine appears to be coming away from the actual pages, so care must be taken when opening and closing the book. The pages themselves are in good condition, however, with none having been torn out or damaged to any great degree.
