| Description | A maroon sketchbook filled. The book is bound with board and leather and is approximately twenty five centimetres tall by twenty wide. The drawings inside this sketchbook see a resurgence of McCarthy's religious artwork and also depict numerous nudes, both male and female, with a few buildings included as well. The pages are not numbered.
Includes McCarthy's sketch of the loading island by Stepney power station. It is highly likely that this drawing, marked with a purple bookmark, was McCarthy's preliminary sketch which formed the basis of his 1958 'Dockland Bathers' painting. Other purple bookmarks indicate pictures of Paul Joyce, Alec Ayres, Peggy Street, Owen McCarthy and Cornelius McCarthy himself. There are far fewer paintings in this book than in the preceding ones
