| Title | McCarthy Sketchbook |
| Date(s) | 1996 |
| Description | A red floral patterned sketchbook filled with rough drawings. The book is bound with board and is approximately sixteen centimetres tall by twenty two wide. The sketches inside are mostly male nudes. The pages in the book are not numbered, but McCarthy appears to have pencilled in page numbers in the bottom right corner of each page. However, several pages seem to have the same number, so caution must be taken when referencing them.
The sketchbook begins with a short poem written in Autumn 1996. There are two paintings within the sketchbook on pages 9 and 10. There are also a number of pastel drawings and a cubist sketch. There are some blank pages near the back of the book, although the last two pages have rough notes written on them.

| PhysicalDescription | Condition: Overall the condition of this sketchbook is good. The spine shows no real signs of creasing and there are no stains or marks on the cover. Inside the condition is slightly poorer, with splashes of paint occasionally bleeding through the pages. There are a few missing pages as well, but overall the sketchbook has been reasonably well preserved. |
