| Description | Admission register for St. Anne's School with handwritten label: 'Admission Register 30/8/89 - 7/5/00'. The name of the school is not recorded within the volume, however, it is the exactly the same type/format of register as item I/STB/1/1/3, (which is identified as St Anne's) and is clearly the predeccesor to the later register as the dates correlate. In addition, all three of the registers in this series (I/STB/1/1) for St. Anne's evidently contain the same handwriting.
The volume includes an alphabetic index of pupils at the front and admission entries which date from October 1888 - May 1900. The range of information recorded within includes: admission number; date of admission/re-admission; date of birth; surname; christian name of child; christian name of parent; address; claim to exemption; last school name; last school: presented at last examination (subject and standard details); years in which presented in this school (standard/subject details); date of last attendance at this school; cause of leaving. The entries are arranged chronologically by admission number, which does not always correspond to a chronological date of admission/re-admission, for instance, the first entry in the volume is for an admission in August 1889, however, the third entry is for an admission in October 1888. The overall date range reflects information recorded in the 'date of last attendance' column. |
