AdminHistoryThe Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths is one of the twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London. It received its first charter in 1327 from Edward III. The Company had responsibility for the quality of gold and silver items and founded Goldsmith's College. The company had extensive estates in the modern borough of Tower Hamlets, which they leased to raise money.
